Big gap between the trigger guard and handles

    in Support

I was assembling my Raygun when I noticed a pretty massive gap between the trigger guard and the handles were they hold together. Wasn’t sure if this was an intentional design or not. Doesn’t really make too much sense to me Why it wouldn’t have a decent fit.

if this is intentional is there another version of the stl were it fits a bit better? Other than this little detail this model is great!

My models have a snug fit, but that much of a gap is definitely excessive. I did leave a larger tolerance than usual because the support structure makes the surfaces sag. What version of the STL file folder did you download? I might remember having the issue early on, but fixing it in later versions.

@Andrew thanks for the reply! I thought it was a meant for clearance but I knew it was too big. I downloaded the most recent files of the site very recently. I can double check and see if Im using the wrong Files. do you have all the versions of the files available on the site?

I only have the most recent version available for download. The other possible explanation is that your printer/slicer has better support structure that doesn't sag. What printer/slicer combo are you using?

@Andrew I use a cr-10 v2 and it’s very finely tuned and I have it set to not have any overhangs sag. the Slicer i use is cura. I should be able to take the part into blender and adjust the walls to make it fit a little better. If that works ill let you know!
