Correct orientation for printing the fuse?

    in Support

    Hi Andrew!

Just purchased the Ray Gun Video package this weekend - loving the project so far - thank you!

I'm currently printing out the various parts but the fuse in particular has me a bit stumped as per how to orient it for printing. Did you simply print with the flat end down and use supports from the plate to the overhang on the top by the hinges?

Also I see what look like supports in the spots where the metal arches get inserted over the glass which I don't see on the part in your video - Are those pieces that are supposed to be simply removed post-print?

    Thanks!

For anyone wondering, I figured this out. The above way to print it is mostly correct with supports in the front. I adjusted the distance for the supports to be .2mm for easy removal without damaging the edge of the overhangs. You don't need supports on the back hinges - printed fine with them just in the front.

Also, don't try to flip this over with the hinges on the bed and the supports on the opening - it just won't look good due to the bridging.
