I managed to get a m4 express. However it turns on, the different colour modes and the start up sound work, besides that none of the other fuctions work. Could the code be the problem?
If you have any functionality, it is likely that the code is working as intended. If the code isn't working, you should be able to see a pattern of different colored lights blinking on the board itself. Usually when you get the startup sound and the light settings but no shooting, it has to do with the hall effect sensor. Listen carefully to the startup sound and make sure it isn't the sound of the barrel being opened for reloading. If it is the barrel open sound, then the code thinks that the barrel is open and therefore pulling the trigger does nothing because it's waiting for the barrel to be closed. This indicates that the hall effect sensor isn't detecting the magnet, the polarity of the magnet is facing the wrong direction, or there's something wrong with the wiring. If you have an extra magnet, try getting the barrel sound effects to trigger manually and keep track of which side of the magnet triggers the sounds. If that doesn't work, make sure you've wired the hall effect sensor correctly and that the pins aren't touching each other and shorting.
That might work, but I would first look for the M4 Express. The M4 is a little more powerful than the M0, so you won't have to worry about things not working as much.
