    Grip question.

    in Support

I am kind of confused with the complete build as far as keeping the grip together. The dial subassembly and the fuse assembly all have four holes to attach the screws through. The left grip does not have the two holes for the thread inserts to go. Am I missing something here? It just kind of looks like the grip will be loose when fully put together.

So, what was the verdict on this? In the files I have, the left grip contains the holes for the inserts. Should I actually use them or not?

Technically, they're not necessary, but they do improve the sturdiness of the grip. You might feel some shifting in the left grip if you push it forward, but it isn't noticeable under normal use. When I make the final improvements to the Ray Gun design, I will start adding these inserts and screws to the hardware kit.

I found that the 2 holes in the left grip actually caused more harm than good. The left grip is attached using the screw at the bottom. The left dial clamps it in place and the trigger keeps it aligned. Trust me, it works!

Would you happen to still have that stl of the left with holes? I trust that it works but I kind of want to try my hand at seeing if it'll attach. Mainly to help me sleep at night xD

@Cyle Lance Do me a favor: print the part the way it is and put your ray gun together. If you're still concerned after that, I'll add the holes and send it to you. BUT, if you're satisfied without the holes, I'll go and fill in the holes on the bottom of the heatsink!
